Rev. Jacqueline Smith

Rev. Jacque Smith is a pastor who brings warmth, wisdom, and real-life experience to her
ministry. Born in Jacksonville, Florida, and raised in the Atlanta area as one of seven children,
she learned early the value of faith, family, and community.

She’s a lifelong learner who believes growing in faith also means growing in knowledge. Rev.
Smith earned multiple degrees—including her Master of Divinity from Candler School of
Theology at Emory University—preparing her to serve with both heart and depth.

Before stepping into pastoral ministry, she spent over 20 years working in human resources and
corporate management. Along the way, she discovered a passion for helping people grow—
whether that meant mentoring leaders, supporting teams, or welcoming new faces. That same
passion now shapes her work as a pastor who cares deeply about people and their journeys.
Rev. Smith has also been active in the community, serving as a Girl Scout leader, a rape crisis
counselor, and a volunteer with AIDS Atlanta. She believes ministry doesn’t stop at the church
doors—it’s about showing up wherever people need care and connection.

A longtime member of Cedar Grove United Methodist Church, she understands church life from
every angle and is often described as a “pew-to-pulpit” pastor. She has served congregations in
Covington, Ellenwood, and East Point, faithfully walking alongside people in seasons of growth,
challenge, and hope.

Rev. Smith has been married to her husband, Joel, for 19 years. Together, they share a blended
family of three children and six grandchildren who keep life full, joyful, and grounded in love.
